Biomedical Sciences
The purpose of the Biomedical Sciences program is the study of human body systems, medicine, health, key biological concepts, communication, and transport of substances, locomotion, metabolic processes, defense, protection, research processes, engineering principles and an introduction to bio-informatics. The program also includes the design and development of various medical interventions, including vascular stents, cochlear implants, and prosthetic limbs. In addition, students review the history of organ transplants and gene therapy, and stay updated on cutting-edge developments via current scientific literature. Students successfully completing this pathway will have the opportunity to earn the Bio technician Assistant certification.
